A Calm, Cozy Lifestyle Newborn Session at Home in Val-des-Monts

There’s something extra special about photographing family sessions at home, especially during those first few weeks with a new baby. This sweet in-home newborn photography session just outside of Ottawa, in the beautiful area of Val-des-Monts, was filled with soft light, sleepy cuddles, and even a curious pup who wanted to be part of the action.

In-home newborn photography allows you to slow down. There’s no pressure to pack a diaper bag or rush out the door. Your home becomes part of the story, like the couch where you feed your baby, the bedroom where you first snuggled them to sleep, the windows that let in the light you’ll always remember.


I gently guide you, but never over-pose. The goal is for you to feel like yourselves, comfortable and connected in your own space.

From the moment I arrived, this family made me feel welcome. Their baby was calm and alert, and their dog added just the right amount of joyful chaos. We took our time, pausing for feedings and diaper changes, and that flexibility gave us space to capture moments that felt honest, unhurried, and full of love.
